2011 Shoppers Drug Mart Weekend to End Women's Cancers
We have expanded the power of this event to help those suffering from all women's cancers. Yes, breast cancer is a core issue in women’s health. But so are other women’s cancers and now that we know there could be links between breast and gynecologic cancers, it’s time to evolve our mission. Now, we’re no longer determined to end only breast cancer, but all women’s cancers, step by step.
We are very excited to begin our 2011 journey!
Today, we’re looking out on the horizon of a brand new day, one in which we bring the unstoppable spirit of this endeavour to fight cancers that impact way too many women. Now, new registrants will be able to choose the destination of their donor funds: breast, gynecologic or discovery fund for cancers that impact women.

Make no mistake about it your fundraising efforts are very valuable in supporting research, treatment and care throughout our region.
The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is dedicated to increasing cancer survivorship in our community. The Cancer Foundation raises the most money locally for cancer patients and utilizes funds raised from The Weekend to carry out breakthrough initiatives including the purchase of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and innovative research.
Looking to the future, we are working to ensure that local cancer patients have the best possible care close to home, shorter wait times, access to innovative research and new therapies and overall improved quality of life. We will do this through the expansion of regional cancer services throughout Eastern Ontario.
